Job Responsibilities
Write for a major metropolitan daily newspaper, 40-50 hours per week, deliver 8-10 stories per week, overtime and holiday pay available, two weeks vacation.
Job Requirements
College degree preferred.
Uppers
Great editors, emphasis on diversity, both in age and race, is good; Great office location.
Downers
Can be stodgy at times, especially employees, notmuch to look forward to once you've topped out at your particular job; Milwaukee is difficult on singles.
Lifestyle
If you want to settle down, come here. They hire from outside the company, all the way up to management. Therefore, sitting here for some years in hopes of a rpomotion may be a bad idea. There isn't much movement, so be sure of what you're getting into.
Compensation
Very decent for me, although a few other co-workers complain at times.
Advice to Jobseekers
Again, be sure this is what you want. Milwaukee and the newspaper can wear on you after a while.
