Job Requirements
I had to finish high school and go to a local college to get
ceritified and then take a test for the state so the knew I was
going to do the right thing. I had to show them how to wash my
hands and how to keep everyone's care private, which means that I
can use any names when talking about a resident unless it is to
someone who needs to know, and I can only tell them things they
need to know to take care of that person. I was long and hard
going to school and college to learn my trade at the same time
and working a part time job.

Uppers
The jobs has a lot of uppers but I think the most important one is that the
resident think of you has being family and they count on you. the way there
face's light up when you walk in the room it's almost asthough you know they love
you.they really open up to you and sometimes tell you things they would nrvr tell
there own family.just knowing that you halp people that much really makes
everything you do worth while.

Downers
The downers of my jobs sometimes out weighs the uppers. sometime
they pass away and go to better places and you feel as if you let
them down and that you might have been able to save them.some
times it's someone you have really grown to like and when they
pass away you feel as if you lost a member of your own family.at
least thats the downner for me .

Advice to Jobseekers
Don't just jump in, ask someone who works at the place you are
intrested in about the palce before taking a job. be smart and
get involed with residents.i know you want to get to work
now but some places won't pay you what you want, so look for that.
also the work is hard on mind and body so be ready and know
you're hearts in it, you won't be a good aide.
