Job Requirements
The workload is too heavy to take advantage of the few training
courses offered. You're on your own if you want to improve your
skills.
|
Uppers
The few long term employees who haven't been fired are a good bunch to work with.
|
Downers
Management - there are very few good middle managers left and
none at the top. Workload is excessive. If you would like to see
your family now & then look for a job somewhere else.
|
Lifestyle
Company social events are a thing of the past. Hours are long & management
doesn't care about your life outside of the office. Lots of diversity - IT is
about 50% workers from India & sooner or later you will be asked to train your
replacement.
|
Compensation
Salary & bonus depend on performance.
Performance is determined by a flip of the coin.
Managers can't justify ratings & won't put objectives in writing.
Managers often tell worker bees "I gave you a better rating but
upper management lowered it to meet their objectives and budget."

Advice to Jobseekers
RUN AWAY! IT in general is on the decline as jobs are moved
offshore. MetLife is running point in sending American jobs to
India.
