Job Responsibilities
My position;s objective is to discover novel biologically active
molecules for diseases.
My primary responsibilites include designing chemical structure
(chemotype) for biological testings(15%), performing chemical
reaction to synthesize interesting molecules(30%), purifying and
confirmating chemical structure via mass spect. and nuclear
magnetic resonance(30%), analysing structural activity
relationship to facilitate research direction (15%), and
attending scientific meetings(10%).

Job Requirements
BS / MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemistry.
must have organic chemistry fundation, and lab experience.
Obtaingin intership at big pharma would be helpful for entry
level candidate.

you need to be a patient, positive thinker, you will encounter

An average of 8 hours a day, you can come in at 7 am and leave at 3-4pm, or 9 am
- 5pm, as long as you get your job done. You get annual conference traveling
opportunity, dress code is causal, jeans are OK, many of your coworkers are
foreigners who are extremely smart, and analytical.

Compensation
Base salary at big pharmafor for BS entry levels is not bad,
starting at high $40K TO 50K, bonuses runs from 2%-8%, stock

Advice to Jobseekers
This work should be the last to be outsourced, due to its
intellectual involvement, and patent protection. This is a
stable job, layoff is rare, pay and hours are decent.
