Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include scheduling department employees(1/2 hour each week), merchandising(25-30 hours per week), sales analysis(3-4 hours per week, customer service & store operations(20 hours per week.
Job Requirements
Training is provided, but due to the stressful workload that is placed on management, 60% or more is never completed.
Uppers
Access to inventory control, although 50% of the time it never is effective in it's purpose.
Downers
There is a major overload of paperwork, most of which is redundant. The company is obsessed with technology which in many cases complicates the very simple process of selling merchandise. The excess hours you work are expected, while at the same time if you miss an hour or two you are expected to make it up.
Lifestyle
Dress code is casual, work hours are long(some overnights), devotion to the company has to be a PRIORITY.
Compensation
Base salary is in the mid 40s. Bonus potential is minimal due to the complex formulas used to determine elegibility in meeting company standards. Benefits are the standard fare for retail.
Advice to Jobseekers
Unless you are willing to sacrifice your personal life in your quest for a retail career, I would definitely look elsewhere.
