Job Responsibilities
*Telephone "decision makers" in hospitals to set up appointments. These "decision makers" were usually heads of I.T., Chief Financial Officers, or Directors of Nursing. *Take "decision maker(s)" to lunch or coffee; describe software to them. *Try to get DM to include MEDITECH products when considering buying software or adding/changing current software *If that goes well, arrange software demonstrations *If the demos go well, take DM's on site visits where they can see the software being used at another hospital *Finally, if all the above goes well, have a meeting in which sales contract is signed.
Job Requirements
*For this particular company, it makes sense to start as either a Marketing Support Representative or an Implementation Specialist. *Only a Bachelors' level degree is needed.
Uppers
*Overnight travel (I LOVED it, though it is my understanding that that aspect of the job is a huge negative for other people, or may become a negative after a couple of years) *Meeting people from other hospitals and talking to them about their experiences.
