Job Responsibilities
I work in a Flavour and Fragrance company and is responsible for
dealing with distributors. Main responsiblities and the % of my
time is as follows:
1. Sales Management 50%
2. Managing staff 10%
3. Travelling on business locally 10% Incl time with Distributor
or their customer
4. Travelling on business in Europe (Outside NL) 20% (see above
as well)
5. Receiving and creating sales and financial reports 10%

Job Requirements
4 years apprentice ship and Business degree together. Courses in
Food technology, finance, management etc.

Uppers
Dealing with people and visiting distributors, customers. Managing projects
that go through our technical rescorces. Previous positions in commodity tradind
and food ingredients hjas lead to travel in over 90 countries which has broadened
horizons graetly and provided insight and appreciations of other cultures,
religions, people and countries. Seeing the world on business is different to on
holiday as there is no gloss.

Downers
Point 5 in above point 1. Occasionally suffered bosses with more
interest in their own careers and pay than the wellbeing of the
company.

Lifestyle
Normal 40 hour week but due to the job often realistically 50 hours. Regular
travel (2-3 trips of 2-3 days per months) mainly to major European cities.
Although informal dress code prevails, prefer shirt and tie. Annual company
Christmas party and summer BBQ in office grounds. Office Tennis, Badminton etc.
possible.

Compensation
Basic salery of Euro 80k p.a., Performance related bonus of max
20 but averaging 10% of annual salary. 35 days holiday p.a. paid.
13 monthly salaries. Stock options accompanies the grade.
Company car with fuel in NL and all business fuel. Current car
is Volvo S80 2.4T.

Advice to Jobseekers
Ability to get on with people, learn quickly, be interested in
taste and what makes the differences in flavours. Inquisitive
nature is helpful. Work hard, be honest and not too diplomatic.
Set targets for your self and your distributors.
