Lifestyle
A great deal of my collegues worked their way up to a Business Analyst position from a helpdesk role. Supporting the business gives one a great deal of insight into business requirements as well as allowing one to learn the system very well. Job outlook is good - as more companies begin to use systems to steamline their businesses, capture valuable consumer information via systems and publish web sites for various ecommerce purposes more developers will be required to code these systems and more business analysts will be needed to thoroughly document business requirements as well as assist in QA, testing and training.
Compensation
Salaried (excempt) 75,000 - 95,000 per year. Not bonus eligible. Standard benefits package: healthcare, dentalplan, 401K, employee stock purchase plan, employee discounts on goods & services.
