Job Responsibilities
I spend most of my time doing paperwork for our clients. Helping
the attorneys prepare motions as well as doing research to help
our cliets defense. The most important part of my job is talking
to clients or potential clients on the phone. I also spend time
at different courthouses filing papers and visiting the district
attorneys office. There are two nights a week where I am "on-
call" for our potential clients, and/or for people who just have
legal questions.

Job Requirements
Criminal classes and learning how a general business works is
crucial to this job. Most of what I do here has been taught to me
through years of experience, being on the job, and just overall
learning from my mistakes as well as other's mistakes. A
paralegal class may also be very helpful if you want to be a
successfull candidate for a position at any law firm. All motions
and general filings can easily be learned. Subpena's are a big
part of what we do, if you have done one subpena, you can tackle
the next.

Uppers
The best part of this job is the rewards. Not only helping people when they most
need your help, but the monetary reward is helpful in this growing economy. The
better you are at your job, the higher the raise and the better the bonus.

Downers
Honestly sometimes dealing with attorneys that can be very
stressed out at times can be difficult. Understanding they have
people's lives on their plate ultimately takes a toll on their
personality and sometimes their health.
|
Lifestyle
Very lovely lifestyle. Professional work attire at all times in the office. All
legal holidays off as well as extra vacation days are appreciated. Traveling to
different courthouses gives this job a paticular nice break from the walls of the
office.
|
Compensation
Lots of bonuses throughout the year. The bigger and better the
business is doing the better the bonuses. Reviews and co-workers
input can be awesome when you are a hard worker and getting a
better salary base. This position gets better with time. More
experience makes you indespensable.

Advice to Jobseekers
Keep an open mind when you come into an office. Dont judge by
appearances. Do your job to the best of your ability and ask alot
of questions. The more you learn, the better of you will be. Dont
talk about your personal life too much. Keep small talk short and
to the point. Give your opinions when you feel you have a genuine
point to make, and always be willing to listen to good advice.
