Job Requirements
A high school diploma or G.E.D. is a must for this job. An
Associates degree and/or Journeyman level training is a definate
advantage. A Masters level of experience will still not get you
the job, but, it looks good on your resume. Your ability to do
the job is the most important factor in attaining employment.

Uppers
The knowledge that my skill level and education totally surpasses that of those
who are in positions of authority.
|
Downers
None, generally. But, specifically, the severe shortage of
competent and qualified skilled labor in the national market
makes the hiring of this level of worker very difficult. As a
result, the 80+ hour work week does get a little
old.... "Diversity" is shoved in every orifice ad nauseum....
|
Lifestyle
Business travel: none. Work hours: all you can handle and then some. Company
social events: did away with those years ago....
Dress code: tyrannical and authoritarian, illogical. Diversity: we are choking
on it (if you need some, please contact us so that we can ship you a boat load of
it).
|
Compensation
Base salary: fair. Bonuses: none. Stock options: not open to
hourly workers. Benefits: substandard retirement, fair medical,
fair dental, anemic vision, inadequate Thrift Investment Plan
participation level, no 401K, you're gonna work here until you
die.
