Job Requirements
Not sure what this means. What program? What professor?
Uppers
Helping students decide that they want to go to school or that they should go to our college. Talking to students who are distressed and undecided, and giving them guidance about the program they should pursue.
Downers
Management won't let us do our job. They are always circling around us, "huddling" with the staff, just all type of interruptions. As if they don't trust us to do our job.
Lifestyle
Work hours are horrid: Monday 9a-6p; Tues 12p-9pm; Wed 9a-6p; Thur 12p-9pm; Friday 9a-6p. No business travel. This is all telephone desk work and paperwork. Dress code is business casual. Very diverse ethnic group of people. Job seekers interested in this job should go to an on-campus college not an online college like this one. This is a good job to start out, get entry level skills, but move onto a better college.
Compensation
Base salary is entry-level $27,500. No commission, no bonus. No stock options. We get health benefits, incl. prescription; long-term disability. The regular days off for sick and vacation.
Advice to Jobseekers
I think it's a wonderful job to have and wonderful field to go into. However, I caution that an online college should only be entry-level and employee should move-on to an on-campus college.
