Job Responsibilities
Opening controller, registers, accounting for bank opening paperwork & documentation takes approx. 20 minutes. transport deposit from previous day & acquire change from bank takes appox.20 min. to decern team members daily projects & plan into day takes appox 20 mins, to open actual store takes approx 20 minutes. by this time store is actually open. also within my responsibility lies checking e-mails from district mnger, & customer survey satisfaction score for the day. i normally do not have but one team member on my shift to complete all of these tasks, therefore if one person on the floor is swamped at 9:00am as we open, i will not acheive e-mail reception or daily customer satisfactoin scores from the controller which is located in rear office, unobtainable to guests. during the day i am responsible for any & every activity that my affect guest relations, as well as completing daily task assignments within the store (moving freight, ect) as well as receiving daily freight from ups & fed ex, as well as finding homes in the store for items not specified in corporate plan-o-grams. i am also responsible for any & every return that took place over my shift. i am responsible for correctness of planograms placed. i am responsible for team members who don't complete the daily tasks assigned to them. i am responsible for documentation to next shift leader to understand the daily happenings that occured preventing completions of assigned tasks. guest service remains top priority, & quite normally there is never enough of us to do what is asked, even though no one has a problem with the tasks asked of us. i have been scolded plenty because of someone couldn't get their tasks completed, & my answer is just that the guest comes 1st. often times, the guest is on their 1st shopping trip for a project they know nothing about, & just needs some ideas, which they expect & are grateful for the team members of our staff to offer. this makes no money, prevented someone from completing a task assignment, but made a guest comfortable to come back when they've made a decision. for this no money making no task completion, i get scolded.
