Job Responsibilities
I am responsible for running weekly and monthly reports. I also assist 8 sales managers with document preparation and customer assistance. I am responsible for fielding all calls from customers concerning our web-based contract preparation application and work closely with the programmers in our main office on this application. Monthly I prepare marketing flyers and send them out, and prepare micro marketing programs as requested. I request and direct all funds for our micro marketing programs. I am also the national back up person for municipal leasing quotes. I assist with all refinances by coordinating payoffs from other lenders and preparing new documentation and obtaining titles.
Job Requirements
Hiring requirements were several years of experience in working with sales managers and at least an Associates Degree.
Uppers
The absolute best part of my job is talking with our customers on the phone and actually getting to meet some of them. Without our customers I wouldn't have a job, and they are great people. I also love the marketing aspects of my job.
Downers
The worst parts about my job are that it gets rather tedious sometimes. I am dealing with numbers all day, every day, and that just gets boring.
Lifestyle
I only travel 2 or 3 times a year. My work hours are 8-5. The dress code is business casual, and I dress up a little more when going out to see customers. There are not many company social events. The company is working on diversity, but they still have a long way to go. The company is dominated by white males with a "good old boy" attitude.
Compensation
I receive quarterly and annual bonuses which total about $8K per year. There are years when they take away quarterly bonuses and only give out annual bonuses. My base salary started off 5 years ago at $30K and has only increase to $34K. Raises only take place every 18 months and are low. The company offers health insurance and match 50% in the 401K plan. There are 3 weeks of vacation after 3 years of service and usually about 6 holidays per year. Employees are fully vested in the 401K plan after 5 years.
Advice to Jobseekers
The overall field is very lucrative, but I would go with a company with better compensation and more opportunity for career advancement.
