Job Requirements
I began with community college/vocational type computer course
work and a back ground in High Tech Crime law enforcement.
Progression to a undergraduate degree in Information Technology
with a wide variety of cources assisted in obtaining a first
level management position. Obtaining additional certification
(CISSP & CIMS) allowed progression to Director level, national
practice responsiblities

Uppers
Great opportunity for diverse projects. Lots of work accross differnet vertical
markets (Healthcare, Financial/Mfg./Government. Continually changing environment
makes "getting bored" not an issue
|
Downers
Continually changing enviroment can make it a challenge to
change. Must be flexible at ALL times. High travel rate of
subordinates makes burn out a management priority. Lots
of "fires" to put out daily.
|
Lifestyle
Depending on the company, lots of travel (50%+) standard work week of 50+ hours.
Advantage to flexibility. I can work off hours and I work primarily from home
when not on the road. Company is stellar and executive management great. This
is a requirement in a fairly high stress competative landscape. Flexibilty lets
me take time to go to kids school events, but trade off is to make up by working
nights. Must be a disciplined individual.

Compensation
