Job Responsibilities
At Hungry Jacks there are many job responsibilities. People that start out at hungry jacks may not stay within this bussiness but take with them the qualities and responsibilities with them. Responsibilities include: Cleaning: Tables, utensils, benches and anything that is dirty. Customer service: Face to face and indirect meaning it is not only the service crew that have to give great customer service it is the burger makers as well if they make a crappy product then people are not going to come back like wise if a customer is treated poorly by a service person then again they won't come back. The strongest responsibilies in this bussiness are customer service, team work, politeness, respect for others and yourself, how to clean, how to be accountablr for ones own actions, cash handling and leadership skills. All of which is important when working in other industies what ever you choose, without the basics customers just won't come back and they are the ones that pay your wage
Job Requirements
Hungry jacks have traneeships to allow you to get a certificate will working there. It is all on job training. The managers do the hiring and the teamleaders do the training. There is a series of DVDs to watch that explain the basic procedures for customer service, complaints, cleaning, food handling, saftey and secrity, burger making etc. From there the teamleader does an orentation around the resturant and then takes them on shift to learn the skills requiered to give exceptional service to the cutomers that pay out wage. There will never be enough emphises on the preparation of food to the selling of the food. If it's not right the customers will not return and will most likely tell everyone about there bad experence rather than their good one
Uppers
The best parts about the job a the people you meet within work and the friends you make. Meeting the regular customers and ensureing that every customer has the best time and ejoys their meal. It is great when customers give you complements on the service and food and you are aknowleged. it is also good to have a job with flexible hours so you can spend your other time studing or socailaising. It is lucky that the managers are great and our employer is always available if we have any issues.
Downers
Cleaning toilets. Besides that when customers abuse you because they were not satified with the product or service it is a bit sad. Although I will not tollerate swearing customers I don't get paid to put up with that. But on the whole it is not very often that these things happen... Thank goodness.
Lifestyle
You need to be able to have flexible hours be willing to work weekdays and weekends morning shifts (6am-2pm) day shifts (12am-5pm) and night shifts (5pm-11pm). You would want to be no more than 30min away from this job as there are many times when you get called in because it is busy and they need extra crew. So you need to be on call. There is a strict dress code that if not worn you would recieve a warning slip and be sent home to get it. To o this job you need to be energietic and happy thats what customers want to see.
Compensation
In this bussines we have a crew member of the month and they receve 25 dollars as a bonus. Most pay rate depend on your age the highest rate is $15 after that it is a base rate of $90 for a 8 hour shift when doing manager shifts. The only benifts is you will leave this company with skills that will help you in the big wide world.
Advice to Jobseekers
Give it a go you won't know if you like it or not if you don't give it a go. I love it and have met so many people and have had the best time. i now have qualifcations to appy for other jobs I couldn't apply for before because i now have the experience and certificates to do it.
