Job Requirements
Usually the hospitality path is helping in that job, but I got in
having nothing to do with hospitality. If you're responsible,
quick and eager learner, and have good communication skills,
you're gonna be fine.

Uppers
The greatest thing I learned is how to deal with customers, even with the tough
ones. This skill is pivotal in life in general. I learned patience. Also, people
I worked with are awesome, and I have the best boss in the world!
|
Downers
Non-stop communication with customers and problems needed to
solve drains you out. I come home practically dead every day, no
energy left. This job is not easy if you're not a slacker.
|
Lifestyle
We have a nice uniform that looks professional and nice. Also, we have a serious
diversity in terms of nationalities, that's great! We have agents from Japan,
Germany, Estonia (myself), Philippines, Greece, and of course U.S. It's very
interesting!
In terms of working, it's continuous "doing something".
|
Compensation
We receive bonuses if we manage to sell certain types of rooms to
people and also some packages. Our management is interested in
earning more money making us to earn money. Good deal.
Benefits in general are good too. Can't go in detail, because I'm
not familiar with them thouroughly myself, but I know that people
value them.

Advice to Jobseekers
This job offers many life skills aside from professional
(hospitality). You can also move forward in the hotel itself to
other positions if you like. The main thing is to be responsible
and eager to work. It's pretty hard to "keep smiling" all the
time, but people will appreciate a lot your effort to help your
co-workers (team-work) and to be responsible and interested to do
whatever you're assigned to do. No-one likes slackers
and "whatevers". If you're that, forget about it.
