Job Responsibilities
Recruitment of high school and college students to Minority and
non minority colleges and universities from the Northern and
Central California sectors. Attending college fairs, church and
schools seeking candidates to attend the above mentioned
institutions. Work Monday through Sunday, approximately 30 hours.

Job Requirements
Background in recruitemnt, counseling, public speaking, ability to
perform fIeld work traveling to homes of prosepctive candidates
for colleges and university for undergraduate and graduate
programs Possess Bachelor of Arts degree & Juris doctorate.

Uppers
The look on the faces of parents, guardians, and students who get accepted to
the various colleges and universities, that I counsel. Many are first time
college admittee in the family. I reruit all races, gender, and nation orgin
(foreign students) to our HBCUs and California institutions, public and private.

Downers
Counseling students about colleges versus the cururent educational
counseling in our scholl which is inept and unavailaable to our
students because of budgets, overload of student to counselor
ratios, etc; counseling of students on test taking at early grades
rather than at twelve grade where required test scores cannot be
achieved for four year college enrollment.
Worst part also when the students who get accepted to the various
universities and colleges, because of first time away from home,
homesickness, and lack of focusing, these students return home.

Lifestyle
Travel to cities in Northern and Central California attending college fairs,
churches, during all days of the week, some in there morning, afternoon or
evening. Dress code is suit and tie. Paerents and students in attendance are
diverse and need for abiltiy to interact with students of color, and bilinqual is
an asset.

Compensation
Base salary based upon a fee charged to parents or school district
for services if a contract can be attained.

Advice to Jobseekers
Job seekers need to getr to know the territory in which you will
work. Know the counselors,college recruiters, the PTAs, Churches,
Attend Athletic events; attend Board meeting of private and public
districts to become known and adjust your fees for counseling
students going to colleges and universities.
