Job Responsibilities
I represent real estate developers and lenders in all aspects of real estate law. This involves a lot of contract negotiation, document preparation, due diligence and strategy. I work approximately 10-12 hours per day, 5 days per week. Typically, 50% of each day involves contract drafting and preparation. 25% involves negotiation and strategy with clients and/or opposing counsel. 25% involves due diligence review.
Job Requirements
Undergraduate degree from Harvard University. JD from University of Maine School of Law.

Daily contact with great clients who appreciate the unique value that my company brings to each transaction. Daily intellectual stimulation that results from working on extremely complex transactions. Working with other highly educated and motivated professionals. Not having a "boss" (i.e. being able to come and go as I please as long as the work gets done) Ability to move up at the firm through high quality work rather than through politics or rainmaking. Not a lot of travel required.
Downers
Billable hours. It is difficult to bill every 6 minutes of your day. Long hours.
Lifestyle
Work hours are long (anywhere from 50-70 hours a week). Not a lot of business travel required. Not a huge amount of company social events. Dress is business casual. Office atmosphere is very friendly.
Compensation
Base salary = $160,000 to $190,000 per year Bonuses = none Benefits = full health and dental, 4 weeks vacation, 4 weeks paid paternity
