primary responsibility is to ensure supply to plants and source
new business
15% launching two new transmissions
5% negotiate pricing with suppliers
20% monitor supplier performance
10% develop commodity strategy
25% interface with internal functions - engineering, logistics,
finance
25% processing paperwork and monitoring policies and procedures

Job Requirements
During my MBA access to classes was not an issue as most of our
classes were preselected for us. Access for professors was good,
got real life experience through applied project with Intel,
quality of classes varied.

In charge of $54 million commodity
being part of one of the largest companies in the U.S. and developing exciting
products, plus this is the last major manufacturing in the country
being the central point of contact for some many functions
working with a diverse group of people - age, cultures, backgrounds etc

Change is slow,
so many policies and procedures to follow,
lack of training and access to information limits job
effectiveness,
mis-aligned objectives across functions,
transactional work vs. strategic.
