Job Responsibilities
I can work one to five days a week. Every week is different. My main responsibility is to call on as many high school teachers as possible in the areas of Art, English, French, Spanish, Economics, Civics, History, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Sewing, Psychology and book appropriate presentations in their classroom.
Job Requirements
No degree necessary for this position. One needs to have public speaking skills, out-going personality, some fashion/merchandising background is helpful. There is a paid training period to learn a dozen presentations with a skilled trainer. This is a self paced time, so it could take two months to 4 months depending on how quickly one learns.
Uppers
The freedom to work as many days as I want. To work in the schools of choice (most of the time). Many friendships have developed over the years in this job. There is a wonderful international club-med trip once a year for those who work close to full-time.
Downers
Seasonal/part time so there's no benefits available.
Lifestyle
Being a speaker for FIDM means people look up to you as being fashion savvy. It can be on the glamorous side. You can work between 8 to 40 hours a week. It's up to you. there is an annual training in the summer all expenses paid. Dress code is casual career.
Compensation
$135.00 per day (that might be a 4 to 8 hour day) plus gas milage
