Job Requirements
Certificate 3 childcare-college. Classes are fun, social, varied
topics, etc. Teachers are helpful and friendly with experience
in the field, not just knowledge. Workload is full on but alot
of projects are fun and creative or group work, presentations,
etc. Time in class is also allowed regularly to acess teachers
for any questions, etc.

Interacting with the children, watching them learn and grow. Setting own hours,
times, wages. Meeting different families and situations.

Dealing with difficult people, families, children. Bad behaviour
and situations to have to work in.

Lifestyle
Work hours are set by oneself, travel to the homes is up to you to organise,
dress code is casual but not revealing. closed in shoes for safety. Experience
many different situations and people.

Compensation
$13.50/hr. Extra for overtime, casual work and late hours. No
sick pay, etc. Paid for all booked days organised by the family,
regardless of whether they need you or not sometimes.

Advice to Jobseekers
Many people are going into this field because they think its
easy but the pay isnt that good and the familys can be varied.
May have to deal with special needs of families and children and
put up with a lot of annoyances, problems, etc.
