MANAGING EVERY DAY COST CENTER DUTIES RANGING FROM STAFF
MANAGEMENT, INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT, CONSUMER AND COMMERCIAL
BANKING, COMMERCIAL AND CONSUMER LENDING, RETAIL BANKING, TEAM
MANAGEMENT, MORTGAGE LENDING AND PROFIT/LOSS STATEMENT
RESPONSIBILITY. EACH DAY IS A BALANCE OF ALL OF THE ABOVE LISTED
RESPONSIBILITIES. I SPEND ABOUT 60-70 HOURS/WEEK AT WORK CALLING
ON CLIENTS AND GENERATING NEW BUSINESS.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK WERE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND A COLLEGE
UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN FINANCE MINIMUM. 3-5 INTERVIEWS WERE
NEEDED TO BE DONE PRIOR TO HIRING.

THERE IS ABOUT 10-20 MILES OF TRAVEL EACH WEEK. THERE ARE A LOT OF MEETINGS
THROUGHTOUT THE CHICAGO AREA WHICH BREAKS UP THE WEEKS. DRESS CODE IS VERY
CONSERVATIVE BUSINESS FORMAL. DIVERSITY IS A "MUST HAVE" AS WE ARE A RECOGNIZED
DIVERSITY CONCIOUS INSTITUTION. WORK HOURS CAN BE REGULAR (40/WK) OR EXTREMELY
LONG (70/WK) DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO WORK AND HOW HELPFUL YOUR STAFF
IS. THE PERKS ARE NICE, MANAGING YOUR OWN TIME AND TRAVEL AS WELL AS MANAGING
PEOPLE AND MONEY.

Compensation
COMPENSATION IS NOT BAD IF YOU ARE TIED TO A BONUS STRUCTURE SUCH
AS 40% OF SALARY. YOU CAN ALSO EARN COMMISSION IF YOU GET
LICENSED TO SELL INVESTMENT PRODUCTS. COMPENSATION GROWTH IS NOT
AS EASY BECAUSE BANKING IS VERY CONSERVATIVE IS INCREASES AND
TENDS TO PAY ON EXPERIENCE AND NOT PRODUCTIVITY.
