Job Responsibilities
I was responsible for developing the service pricing for an IT services firm. Supervised a team responsible for a $367 million contract consisting of over 1500 individual services spread over 52 North American General Motors automobile manufacturing plants.
Job Requirements
At the time, EDS only hired College graduates with GPA's above 3.3 and honors graduates. I am not sure what the requirements are now beyond a field related Bachaelors degree.
Uppers
I get to work with many interesting people all over North America, including Canada and Mexico. The work itself is very challenging and analytical.
Downers
Long hours due to working with multiple time zones.
Lifestyle
Must be available for weekend meetings with upper level management. Low pay for amount of hours worked.
Compensation
Currently the company is lagging the market financially. There have been many cutbacks and pay freezes so I have only had one raise (3%) and one bonus in the past three years.
Advice to Jobseekers
Seek employment elsewhere. There are much better companies in the IT services field to work for.
