Job Responsibilities
Teaching second graders 7hrs a day, grading papers 1 hour day,
lesson planning 2 hrs a week, communication with parents 2 hours
a week, record keeping 1 hour a week, staff meetings 2 hours a
week, staff development 2 hours a week,maintaining classroom-1
hour a day, many other misc duties as they arise...

Have to be able to dedicate a lot of time, not an 8-5 job! requires working late

of patience, be able to multi-task, be able to prioritize...

Compensation
Starting pay is somewhere around $30,000 depending on the
location. Different states/districts pay different salaries.
Extra money can be made sponsoring an after school club,
tutoring, etc.

Advice to Jobseekers
Do some student teaching, or at least help out in a classroom.
get to know a teacher, see what the job really entails. there's
a lot more to teaching than people think. make sure you know
what you're getting yourself into. It can be a wonderful
carreer, but it is sometimes hard to keep your head above water.
