Job Requirements
I graduated from Cornell with a Bachelor's Degree and began
working as a Financial Reporting Sepcialist and then
Consultant. I worked for three years before coming to Penn
Law. I have a degree in Human Development, but I found that
most financial companies at the time were looking for recent
college graduates with various degrees. The training was
provided at work.

Uppers
Finanical Reporting is a fast paced industry. I was responsible for all
reporting aspects of multimple mutual funds. I worked directly with different
departments within the company, includin legal, accounting, and marketing.
|
Downers
The work is very cyclical and quickly turns into a routine.
There is not much room for creativity. Everything must be done
according to very specific rules and procedures; deadlines are
very strict. This is a very closely regulated industry and the
SEC rules are very stringent.

I worked steady hours. There was not much travel involved. Depending on the
reporting cycle, I worked a little more or a little less.
|
Compensation
At the time, my salary was $55,000 per year with several
thousands in various bonuses.
