Job Responsibilities
Maintaining public safety, supervising criminals in the community
placed on Probation through the Court, providing reviews,
updates, and filing complaints on those who violate. Representing
the Department in Court and testifying.

Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice or other related
field and a clear background check will land you a position.

You have to do things most people in the world would dispise such
as drug testing, strip searching, get attacked by dogs or worse,
people spit in your face, are beligerent, and occassionally treat
officers poorly in general.

Lifestyle
8-5 Monday through Friday, every other Friday off- travel to training in large
cities, alcoholic beverages are usually provided, dress is casual, and anyone
with a little self confidence will fit right in.

Compensation
You bring home approximately $30,000 per year to start, with a 5%
increase in pay every other year, room for advancement in most
cases and excellent benefits.

Advice to Jobseekers
Start small, working in a juvenile facility after having
completed 60 units of college units. Juvenile facilities can
consist of group homes, juvenile hall, boot camp, foster homes,
and other programs.
