Job Requirements
We recruit health care professionals, e.g. Specialist medical
practitioners and nursing staff, predominatly. The qualification
and experience checking is extensive to confirm abilities. We do a
check of qualifications and also character assesment using direct
contact with previous employers, references and medical
associations and colledges of medicine and specialist colledges.
The work load is high and ongoing as we have to asses all
potential VMO (visiting medical officers) status before allowing
them rights to the hospital.
|
Uppers
The review and evaluation of new and inovative medical products, from both a
marketing and ongoing usage benefits/features analysis.
Working in the promotion of new facilities and services offered by our
registered medical officers as well as visiting medical officers. These areas are
both challenging and rewarding.
|
Downers
Government bureaucracy and the fitting in the box mentality of gov. It is
tedious and continual.
|
Lifestyle
I work intensively averaging 60 plus hrs per week. I go to functions and
meetings out of hours and the phone never stops. However with good time
management and equally good support staff the days are rewarding. When dealing
with people it is important that they are streight forward with their thoughts.
However if complaining they have to be prepared to give an alternative solution
or proposal. Complaining alone is not exceptable. People need to be prepared to
except responsibility. Potential job seekers need to do their homework about the
organisation before interviews. Plus it is healthy for them to ask relavant
questions about the business and its forward planning.
|
Compensation
Base salary around $80 to $100K with bonuses negotiated on botom
line profits annually as well as sale of business commission by %
over negotiated values.
More experience = more revenue = more benefits
If the business does not make money then it can't pay employees

Advice to Jobseekers
Health is a 40-plus-billion-dollar industry in Australia, it may
seem boring at first but it is multyfacited and rewarding.
Do your homework before any interview. Don't be afraid to ask hard
questions about the company interviewing you.
And always keep in mind who the customer of any business in health
care is.
It always comes back to the doctor. He or she is the customer,
without them there is no healthcare.
