Job Responsibilities
Running production in the factory - a minimum of 3 hours every
morning is spent issuing new jobs and checking on the status of
current jobs in the factory.
Administrative work i.e. typing of of new quotes for new
business, doing invoices for outgoing finished products, e-mails
etc.
Purchasing - Buying the variouse materials needed for specific
jobs in production, finding the best quality material at the best
price for the specific job.
Marketing - keeping in touch with all current clients/customers
and possible new customers, keeping them informed of any new
products, specials etc.
Draughting/Drawing - technical drawings of all new and existing
product is performed by myself.

Job Requirements
Due to the fact that my job responsibilities are widely varying,
there are a number of educational classes that can be taken in
order to aid in performing the job to the best of my ability. A
draughtsman coarse - helps with the technical drawings as
complicated programs such as AutoCAD are used, must have some
technical background with regards to engineering as you need to
know what material is needed for what job, a production planning
and management coarse aids in the effective running of the
factory and management of the staff. For general administrative
work it is advisable that some form of computer coarse on
microsoft be done as this is the package currently being used by
the company.

Uppers
The variety has to be the biggest plus although this will not be found in every
situation. Being given the freedom and responsibility to make my own decisions
with regard to the effective running of the business

Downers
It is a lot of work for one person to do. Technical drawings
etc. can become boaring. In production management ensuring
propper running of the factory takes much time and effort and a
stron will, sometimes staff problems occur.

Lifestyle
The work hours are quite intense, it's a 9 hour day. The people are very
friendly and the environment is relaxed. There is no specific dress code, only
to look respectable. There is often socialising between staff members on the
premises and the company celebrates everyones birthday with cake etc.
There are quite vast cultural differences between staff members, but this has
not posed andy problems it has in fact helped everyone understand the differnt
cultures better.

Compensation
The base salary for this position is R8000.00 (South Africa
Rands) per month with a car allowence of R3000.00 (South African
Rands) per month. There is an anual bonus of 10%. Benefits
include medical aid (50% paid by the company) and
Pension/Provident Fund (50% paid by the company)
