Job Responsibilities
I am a creditor. My responsibility consist of tying up all
invoices, delivery notes and orders that is then captured on the
computer system. At month end I would prepare all payments to
be made and prepare a electronica payment that goes through to
the bank via a disk. After month end I must Reconcile all the
accounts with the statements sent to us. My second
responsibility is the Fixed Asset Register that I must keep ut
to date that is all Furniture and Fixtures. This takes up a
full day of work everyday.

Job Requirements
I have been very lucky as to not need to attend any classes for
my job catogarie as my mother had been an accountant here years
ago when I started and had been trained by the best. Job
consists of the basic mentioned above it is only the computer
training that varies at different firms as everybody works on
different systems.

Uppers
I do not like a telephone very much so I do not work with many people over the
phone only when they phone to find out when there payments will be made to there
banking accounts. The hype for this year for me will be that we are bussy going
over onto a new system completely and training will given to us something new to
look forward to this year. Where as a Credit Controller has more to do with
people requesting money from them.

Downers
The worst part for me is when the end of the month comes and I
do not have all the invoices that needs to be paid as I like my
accounts to balance at month end. Running around looking for
paperwork and deadlines for payments as we need two directors to
sign each Payment Request.

Lifestyle
Consists of more admin and data input as there is no traveling for this job
criteria. I do get invited now and again to a social gathering when the debors
have a new launch on there products. Very simple dress code here jeans and
tshirt some places do have formal dress code but not where I am working. Eight
Hour day job no need to work overtime if you keep your work up to date.

Compensation
I earn a basic salary of plus minus R7 000 with pension, medical
aid and unemployment depending on the firm you work for. At the
end of the year we receive a thirteen cheque bonus.

Advice to Jobseekers
I would not say that there is a major outlook on this job. I
would suggest to study further more in the line of an Accountant
as my job is very standard and depends of what you as a person
wants out of life travelling, and the purks you want in life.
