Job Responsibilities
My job is as the Corporate Recruiter for my company is to
strategically hire employees who will not only be successful in
their job but also develop abilities and skills for other
positions within the company. The unfortunate thing that happens
all the time is to lose key A players because they outgrow the
company. This way, the company does not risk losing an A player
to another company but instead retain the employee in another
sector and creating a win-win situation.

Job Requirements
I received my MA in HR Management while working full-time. This
was one of my personal goals and achievements because I was not
only able to apply what I do during the day but learn new
concepts via a formal education.

Uppers
My greatest joy is finding the right person for the job who not only fits in
with the corporate culture and environment but also has talents and relevant
experience. It's a 100% match when everything is aligned... a 90% match is when
the candidate has the skills but does not have the positive attitude to fit in
with the corporate culture.

Downers
My biggest disappointment is when candidates do not follow
through or they're playing the game of seeking but not not
taking. I've had candidates who would start out very gung-ho
about the opportunity only to lose them because they were just
waiting for hear back from another company. I would give them
more credits if they were honest in the first place.

Lifestyle
Get experience as an intern...even unpaid. Show your committment
by joining different networking organization. Do something that
allows prospective hiring companies see that you're not just an
8-5 employee. If you don't have the drive and the motivation to
do more after business hours, you can be labeled as passive.

Compensation
I've worked for a Fortune 500 company before so you can expect
your salary to be stifled. However, you will always find a usual
increase every year if you do your job as expected. Now that
I'm working for a smaller size company...virtually unknown, I've
foudn the compensation to be as competive and the best
incenctive is that there's no limit as far as who dictates how
much and when.
