Advice to Jobseekers
For anyone who is interested in becoming a paralegal, I highly recommend that while you attend school (either getting ur bachelors or paralegal certificate) to start working in the legal field. It is very hard to find a job as a Paralegal if you do not have experience, even with a bachelors and a paralegal certificate. Best scenario would be to work as an office assistant or a clerk in the legal field and start building experience from there. Companies look for ppl with experience working in the legal field and use your most recent position as a guide for salary purposes. I started as an assistant to the secretary at my company 5 years ago, and slowly climb my way up. I was hired at $32K a year, now I am making $60K + bous!!!! And I LOVE what i am doing!
