Job Responsibilities
I'm responsible for my family. If I have to work my butt off, or lie, or sit quietly - like a teenager in detention, that's what I do.
Job Requirements
If anyone promises you a "Career Path", in today's world, run - do not walk - away as fast as possible.
Uppers
Pay, and not being there.
Downers
No teamwork, no advancement of any kind, no education, being treated and regarded like a whore at the "BunnyRanch", poor - and I mean poor - salary. Even the carpets have not been vacuumed in over a year.
Lifestyle
Work hours aren't all that bad. No business travel, no social events (in fact, no one speaks to one another). Most folks burnt out, paranoid, depressed.
Compensation
Base salary, no bonus. Health plan still good.
Advice to Jobseekers
Stay as far away from Computer Programming as possible. In fact, stay as far away from Corporate America as possible. Better to figure out how to get many small paychecks than to have one big one. If you lose one small paycheck it won't be as painful a "sucker punch" as losing the one big one.
