Job Responsibilities
1/ answering incoming sales calls: 4 hours a day
2/ oraganizing, planning, dispatching info related to each
booked event: 2 hours a day
3/ assisting to pre-con meetings and internal mtgs related to
each event: 1 hour a day or more
4/ typing your own correspondence and sometimes contracts,
making floor plans: 1 to 2 hours a day
5/ making sure morning events are going smoothly: 1/2 hour a day
6/ making sure evening events are going smoothly: 2 to 4 hours a
day
7/ Place 50 cold calls a week: 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 hours a day.

Job Requirements
1/ academic nature of the program can be hotel management,
business management, sales & marketing
2/ classes in hotel management have a plus: they teach you how
to be a multi-tasker (hands-on)
3/ workload is mainly going to be real life exercices, role plays
4/ popular class is pure management where you learn how an hotel
is operated and every related legal aspect.

Compensation
1/ A CATERING SALES DIRECTOR: 55K TO 65K + COMMISSION.
COMMISSION REALLY VARIES A LOT, IT COULD GO FROM 0.25% OF YOUR
MONTHLY SALES UP TO 1.5%. IT COULD ALSO BE CALCULATED AS AN
INCENTIVE %, I.E. YOUR MONTHLY SALES BUDGET IS 230K. IF YOU MEET
THAT #, YOU GET NOTHING, IF YOU MEET 245K, YOU GET 5% OUT OF THE
DIFFERENCE (5% OF 15,000$). BY THE WAY, THIS TYPE OF
COMPENSATION IS MORE AND MORE COMMON.
2/ CATERING SALES MANAGER: 38K TO 45K + COMMISSION
3/ BONUSES ARE USUALLY SMALL, TOP 500 TO 1000$ AND NOT ALWAYS
GIVEN

2/ TITLES MEAN NOTHING: YOU'LL STILL HAVE TO BE HANDS-ON, FOLD
CHAIRS, VACUUM THE BALLROOM AT 2AM SO EVERYONE CAN GOME EARLIER
3/ IT'S AN EXTRAORDINARY WORLD, FUN, ADVENTUROUS, SURPRISING BUT
BE PREPARED FOR IT, KNOW THE DOWNSIDERS
4/ YOU'VE GOTTA LOVE PEOPLE, ALL KIND OF PEOPLE: RICH PEOPLE,
