Job Requirements
I passed Chemical Technological University at Pardubice/Czech Republic, Faculty - Organic Technology. It was 5 years study, workload was high. Due to the fact that it was in the years of "tough" communist regime, atmosphere in the University was not very openin these days. I highly appreciated to be trained by Prof. Tockstein/Chair of Physical Chemistry.
Uppers
The best part of my job is to assist to my customers in Rubber industry in compounding/creating new formulation where I can use my previous 28 years experience working as Chief Chemist in Rubber plant. Second one is Market Survey (mainly from the technical point of view).
Downers
Downers for me generally is a paper work and sometimes too much of bureaucracy in day to day work.
Lifestyle
Work hours time per day in my position is open. Officially it is 8 h/day, but generally it is more, especially due to lot of travelling. Business travelling is arranged well, I have a company car which I can use also for my personal use (in accordance with rules).Long distance travelling are organized by plane.Dress code is informal in the office, the suit is compulsory during customers visits and other official occassions. Company is organizing twice per year parties for all emplyees (once with families). There are also several times a year activities for children of employees. Besides that Emplyees committee is organizing sporting activities, trips/excursions etc. It is subsidized by the Company. It is well done and well accepted by employees. Each employee is getting every year a package of money which he/she can spend for sporting/health care/recreation activity according to his own choice.
Compensation
My salary is roughly 4.000 USD plus yearly bonus depending on Company??s results. Company started to contribute also to my pension fee in accordance with the local law. Part of a package is also company car, which I can use also for my personal use (in accordance with local regulations).
Advice to Jobseekers
The position I am responsible is very specific and requires good technical backround - experience from the Rubber industry is a big advantage. That is why I would like to encourage especially technicians coming from Rubber/Tyre industry to be interested in this job. The outlook for this position is I think good it is and will be necessary in future (maybe even more) supposing that company is planning to penetrate to the new emerging markets (especially in region of East & Central Europe/Russia and East Asia/China.
