Creativity
is a must in this job. Follow the design process from concept to finish product.

Job Requirements
Use of Macintosh and software such as QuarkXpress, Illustrator and Photoshop.
College degree in Graphic Design a must (4 years) and the addition of 2 years at
the
University of Calgary to finish a Marketing certificate.

Uppers
Creativity. It is a different approach for each job. Always something different.
The variery of the jobs: printing, packaging, web, corparate identity logo, etc.
Use of paper and pencil at the begining for concept and then the use of the
computer to finish the project.

Timelines, deadlines. A lot of pressure in the job because of tight deadlines.
Sometimes not enough budget to create what you want.

Lifestyle
This is a fast track job. Timelines and deadlines are an escential part of this
job.
Prepare yourself for long hours. But the finish job is very rewarding. To see a

come to paper is exciting and very fulfilling.

Compensation
Depends on the position you are in the company. I started as a production staff
and I
an now the Art Director. There is a bonus at the end of the year and our offices
close
for 1 week during the Christmas holidays, that is not included in the vacation
time.
