Job Requirements
No previous experience needed.
|
Uppers
Meeting lots of new people, writing and researching skills, working for a non
profit and making a difference, traveling to meet with potential donors,
interactions with kids and the board of directors
|
Downers
Frustration when unable to raise funds, heavy on the marketing
side, need to be creative and innovative all the time.
|
Lifestyle
Work hours were great, 9-5 for the most part and only worked late a few days per
month. Traveling was great, I fly about once a month. Dress code is typical
business code. Very diverse in terms of ages and backgrounds.
|
Compensation
Compensation was very good for a student just having graduated
from college. It was competitive for a non profit position and I
received several promotions while working there for 2 years.

Advice to Jobseekers
The non profit field is difficult but worthwhile. You have to
sell yourself when interviewing, not necessarily your background
or experience. Passion for the job will make you a better
employee than years of experience in the job.
