Job Responsibilities
I run a store with 15 employees, and am in charge of sales, cost
control, training, following marketing strategies, local store
marketing and health and safety in the workplace. I am also
responsible for loss prevention within my own location.

Job Requirements
To attain a position within blockbuster as a store manager, they
want some management experience, or equivalent schooling.

I enjoy the flexibility in the hours worked, as well as the perks of our job
(ie:free movies, 20% discount in store, benefits, etc...). My district manager is
also very good.

Loss prevention is difficult to deal with.

Lifestyle
The job requires you to work 2 nights per week, and 3 days. You also have 1
midnight shift per month. We wear uniforms (shirt provided by employer). Travel
has been very minimal...Business meetings every so often at an outside location.

Compensation
At my current status, I make $42,000 per yr, and have full
benefits, bonus and incentives. I have 4 weeks vacation per year
and also a retention bonus. We get a 20 % in store discount, and
10 free movies a week.

Advice to Jobseekers
You have to be a movie lover and be sales oriented. You need to
be assertive and outgoing.
