Job Responsibilities
Proof-reading copy 20 hrs per week; Editing Copy 15 hrs per week; Emailing clients 2 hrs per week; Correcting proofs 3 hrs per week.
Job Requirements
Godo English skills - GCE 'O' level English Language and Literature; Good command of English language across the board; Basic knowledge of classic books; Good all round general knowledge; Quick accurate typing skills; Shorthand; Good all round knowledge of researching techniques.
Uppers
I have a good eye for detail which is imperative and I just love find typing errors, wrong English grammar and basically design faults. So I would say the best things I love about my job are find faults!
Downers
Having to correct numerous grammatical errors and typing errors. Not to mention speaking with illiterate and ignorant people on the telephone!
Lifestyle
Dress code at work is casual altho I wear smart skirts and jackets Hours of work are ok and flexible. Therefore can have time off in lieu. Opportunity to go into London to research. Company always pays travel, expenses, etc. Opportunity also to meet others in field of research.
Compensation
Basic wage which, for job is quite under-par, however, the office is within easy reach also rail station is within easy reach also which I find beneficial as not much travelling/expense involved. ??15,000 is salary - but flexi time gives me ample time off - which I like. Always get bonus at Christmas and yearly salary increase.

If you like researching and basically looking for errors in English grammar and researching facts in articles - then this is a v rewarding job which pays dividends in job satisfaction. There will always be room for this kind of job as magazines, newspapers and indeed books are always being published.
