Counduct counts and supervise inmates during all daily

Correctional Officers Training Academy.

team with minimal supervision. A sense of pride for serving the public.

Pay is very low for the job requirements. Very stressful.

Lifestyle
The dress code is strict. Work in 1 of 4 different shifts, days, swing, grave
yard or support services from 8-4. There are very few company social events due
to staffing but the administration does make an effort at least once a year by
hosting a Bar-B-Q for the staff. Officers develope into a tight unit within the
shifts and off.

Compensation
Starting salary is approximately $27,000 per year with very good
benifits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement. Some
units have an additional pay due to the stress and danger. Some
have pay due to geographical location.

This is a very high profile and high stress field that requires
alot of maturity and communication skills. Work hard and meet
the requirements to advance and continue with your education in
Law in order to advance as high as possible. Be confident and
always maintain control when dealing with or being around
inmates. Always be professional.
