Job Responsibilities
Supervise internal auditors at two of our properties. Write
audit programs, review workpapers, hire and review employee
performance (1000 hours a year). Oral presentations to Managers
up to CEO (200 hours a year). Write articles, manuals, and audit
reports (200 hours a year). Review all changes to internal
controls (100 hours a year). Train new and existing auditors.
Continue education (80 hours a year)

Job Requirements
Only interview degreed professionals with minimum 2 years
experience either in the casino industry or accounting/finance
experience. Must be able to obtain the CIA (Certified Internal
Auditor certification)

Uppers
Best is only in a department for 3-4 weeks and then move on to another
depratment. By the time they are sick of us we in turn are ready to move on
also.
Travel to Las Vegas at a minimum once a year for training.

Downers
Travel from site to site. After you have seen a city 20 times
their is nothing left to do. All hotel rooms are pretty much the
same.

Lifestyle
One could not perform this job with small children. I did not take this
position until my youngest went to college. Hours vary from 9-5 to coming in at
midnight. Dress is business casual unless presenting or at a meeting.

Compensation
Base salary for managers is low $70,000 with a 10% possible bonus
(based on performance) All the usual benefits, health and life
ins and the regualr holidays.
Starting right out of college for a staff auditor is $35-40.
A Seniro Auditor with 3-4 years experience is $40-55.

Advice to Jobseekers
My daughter is a staff auditor for our competition and likes is
very much. She works her work schedule around her life.
I let my employees work whatever hours they like as long as the
deadlines get met.
It's a great future especially since Sarbane Oxley came around.
The auditor world can thank Enron, Tyco, Worldcom and all the
rest for making management being aware of how important our area
really is.
