Job Responsibilities
On average/day
Check lab rusults on the chemicals produced in the
sections of the plant I am responsible for from the
previous day or weekend. - 40 min.
Using the site's data historian check processes for
upsets. Verify that the units are being controlled at
the desired control set points. - 1-1/2 hour
Work on unit projects, Management of Change authorizations,
Process Hazard analysis items, and Asset Requests. - 1-1/2
Attend meetings to discuss plant operating conditions,
product schedules, and maintenance items. - 1 hour
Walk through plant and discuss operation of units, reactors,
projects, problems with shift operators and supervisors. - 1 hour
OSHA Required/Safety Training - 0:10

BS Chemical Engineering

Uppers
Working in the plant with operators, trouble shooting problems.

Downers
Paperwork requried to full fill goverment mandated requirements associated with
OSHA -Management of Change and Process Hazard Analysis and ISO-9000.

Lifestyle
Work Hours - Normally an 8 hour day. Special projects, unit modification start
ups, process changes, and new processes some times require 10 to 12 hour days but
8 hours is the norm.
Business Travel - essentially none.
Social Events - Yearly Company Picnic. Bar-B-Que contest between groups of
employee's at our site and a sister plant site. Yearly golf team competition.
Dress Codes - Fire Retardant Nomex coveralls and Steel Toed Boots.

Compensation
Base Salary - $87,000
No Bonus
No Stock Options.
Employee Contribution Required Dental, Medical and Vision plans.
Vacation - 4 weeks of Vacation.
401K - 75% contribution on 1st 5% of salary.
