Job Responsibilities
Meet with individual employees (my customers) of 3 affiliate companies
and provide graphic services...Graphic Services encompasses the
responsibility for design concepts, computer production, photography,
soliciting quotes, providing finished printed pieces to the customer and
overseeing this process...I handle multiple print-related projects on a
deadline-oriented, daily basis and maintain and cultivate vendor
relationships to ensure timely delivery of said print related
projects...Responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of Macintosh G5
and related hardware and software...Familiar with the following software
packages: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe
Photoshop, Quark XPress, PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign...I
have 21 years of experience in graphic design, printing processes and
computer technology.

Job Requirements
My career path began straight out of high school...I was originally hired
as an administrative assistant, but through the course of my 8 years with
this company, I managed to leave them holding the title of Art
Director...Lot's of all-nighters and very hard work...:-)

The opportunity to be creative using gorgeous pictures of helicopters and of
course, when certain photos are needed, flying in helicopters...:-)

Lack of knowledge on other employee's parts when problems relate to
the graphic design and production process of printed pieces.

Lifestyle
My work hourse are from 7:30 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m....I am not required to do any
traveling...Dress code is basically business casual or better...The company does
have a couple social event per year -- a Christmas party and annual picnic.

Compensation
Base salary - $50,000.

Advice to Jobseekers
My advice - get as much experience as you possibly can using as many
software packages as you can...Read...Practice...Start a portfolio of your
work....Even if you have to donate graphic design time to charities and
organization to acquire actual printed pieces of your work...I feel the
outlook for this occupation is very strong...Even stronger if you can cross-
over and design websites, as well.
