Job Requirements
My personal abilities which granted me this position are strong
technical experience in defence environments. More specifically
aviation maintenance engineering. A broader expertise in defence
maritime operations and keen eyes for detail ensured employment.

Expanding system knowledge which aids development of conceptual understanding
rather than platform specifics.

Downers
Tedious ammendment of page numbers and document headers. This
occurs in publication that were not correctly developed at inception.

Lifestyle
Smart casual attire ensures a relaxed but proffessional environmnet. My work
hours are determined by load but vary from 38 to 50 hrs/wk. Business travel is
rarely more than 2 per annum and my ability to work from home ensures absolute
flexibility.

Compensation
$ 25/hr + 9% super. Its no kings ransom but the flexibility is
worth the effort. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the
Australian coastline and drive 1.5 hours to work if I am forced to
go to the office. Otherwise its off to the beach for a run and
swim on the morning. Quality of life has to be a premiere
compensation. I would hate to be a miserable millionare.

Advice to Jobseekers
Understand technical aspects of the systems you will be
documenting. And I don't mean ask the engineers. Engineers rarely
use operating manuals. Talk to operators and ask what they want.
The company pays the bills but the users are the real customers.
