Job Responsibilities
Depends on the partner you work with. One of us spends most of
his time summarizing medical records. Another, who has more
experience than the first one, works on a lot of motions and
briefs. Also some people are frequently sent to courts for
conferences.

Job Requirements
Some level of intelligence and a JD degree. Touro or New York Law
School is good enough. Don't need Ivy League degrees. Actually
none of us have been to an Ivy League law school.

Uppers
Most of the work is simple and easy. Not really stressful. People are nice.
You can do the Internet all day long.
|
Downers
Salary is ridiculously low, because the work is simple and easy.
No bonus whatsoever for associates. Not sure about partners.
Most people are not really smart. A lot of meaningless motions
to maximize billable hours. Spends a lot of hours doing
paralegal work.
|
Lifestyle
Pretty much 9-6:30 job. So you have a lot of time to enjoy your life. You must
wear a suit. No business casual allowed here. Once in a while, you have to work
in the weekends.
|
Compensation
Salary is dirt cheap. $45,000 base salary for a right-out-of-law-
school. Low level partners get approximately $100,000 per year.

Advice to Jobseekers
Work hard on LSAT, go to a top law school, get good grades, and
do a law review, if possible. Life is short.
