Job Requirements
Basically to get into the Organization the requirements are constantly changing depending on need and requirements of the company. At a minimum a 4 Year Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting and a Certification as CPA, CMA or CIA. A masters is a plus as is prior experience such as Internships.
Uppers
This position requires about 35 - 40% international Travel. It is a great opportunity to see various countries and learn about their cultures.
Downers
In a larger organization often there are no clear directions or vision and you are often left deciding for yourself on the next best way to spend your time and resources. Simple decesions often take a while, since it is difficult to reach consensus.
Lifestyle
The workplace is generally fairly casual. Communications are relatively open and there is a lot of flexibility in schedule and work tasks, so an individual can take advantage of the freedoms. It does involve unpredictable variations in requirements and often extra hours of unanticipated work at the last moment.
Compensation
Excellent Compensation Package made up of Base Pay 90% and Profit Sharing 10%. The benefits are very good (above average) for the industry. Thre is also a Performance Sharing Plan and Stock Purchase Plan that are optional.
Advice to Jobseekers
I would say many of these functions that are administrative or Support related functions will be outsourced and done outside of the company itself. The future of Finance is going to be in Consulting and Working for Third Party service Providers. The need for Attestation services related to Taxes, Healthcare, and Financial Services will boom. Manufacturing and Information Servcies will Bust.
