Job Title Interview Survey
Management Analyst I was lucky in the respect that a detailed interview process did not apply to me for this job. Ordinarily, it would have required competing with at least ten other individuals, having my resume screened by civilian personnel analysts, and being interviewed by the selecting official. However, I was in a RIF (reduction-in-force) situation at the time I got my current position. It was either take this job or literally go out the door and toss 18 years of civil service away. Fortunately for me, the selecting official was also the same man I had worked for during the previous 10 years. He knew my situation and offered the job to me. Since I was already highly qualified for the position, and there was no one in-house qualified to move into the position, it was a relatively easy process. Many of the positions within our Institute, however, do require the applicant to stand before a board of interviewers and answer some pretty tough questions (what-if type questions).
