It has always captured the interest of Congress in that we are the target of annual protests by the School of the Americas Watch protest group. It's never a sure bet to say that we'll be in our current location from year to the next. In my opinion, the best locale for the school would probably be somewhere near the Miami, FL area, or possible San Antonio, TX--places where the Hispanic population abounds (although, they're infiltraing most all areas of the U.S. these days). For a long time, I didn't think the school would survive the attention generated by the annual protest march; however, I now feel like I'll be long long retired before the school is ever closed down or moved. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone seekimg employment within it. The commandants may change every 2 to 3 years, but the civilian staff is pretty stable; most of us have been there for at least 10 years or more.
