The dress code was business casual dress. I worked specifically for
the DTV department as a technical customer service representative for
satellite related problems. Yes it was definitely a corporation with
all of the average corporate junk. We had to work during extrememly
high call volumes and under great stress because ATT was merging with
DTV. You had a difficult time getting off for a break or even lunch.
If you worked 33 to 35 hours a week, after three months, you could
receive health benefits. The environment was very diverse to say the
least. People from all walks of life worked there. It was very
difficult to get a schedule change to days. The environment was much
like that of a white collar factory. It was 24 hours a day 7 days a
week. No holidays and vacation was based on whether you could get
someone to replace your shift. You were actually paid a decent wage
and even a weekend bonus. I would go back to work there just for the
money; however, I was sexually harrassed by certain ones of the shift
leaders, as well as other male staff. Instead of really getting the
help that I needed to be protected, I was under fire. If I had not
left when I did, I would have been the one reprimanded for their bad
behavior. Naturally, I left and have never gone back. There were
several opportunities for advancement to shift leader positions or
trainers. I never took them up on anything. I only worked there 6
months at best.
