mid-sized full-service IP boutique (50-ish attys); so far nice folks to
work with. Equity Partners are mostly old white men (probably to be
expected since patents are part of what we do, and older technically
trained female patent attornies are not so common), but that is
appaerently changing. Many mid-level and younger partners are female
and the firm is named 2003 Corporate Partner of the Year Award by the
National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Most recent
associate hires have been female; many associates are female. One
associate of color. Corporate casual dress. I haven't been here long
enough to say too much about the overall culture beyond those I work
closely with, but there certainly isn't an overriding or obvious tension
in the air and as I mentioned, everybody seems pretty down-to-earth and
nice. Has, essentially, a _very benevolent_ dictator in the named,
founding partner... who by all accounts is as good a human as an
attorney.
