Financial Consultant IV Working in finance for Wells Fargo Services represents a series of extremes. The company is serious about diversity and hires accordingly. The dress code is business casual down to blue-jeans, unless one works at the executive office complex in Scottsdale, where slacks and ties are required. Several times a year, departments may take time off to attend a ball game or go out to eat. In finance, this is done to partially offset the long hours demanded during budget season. Beginning in June, budgeting lasts up to six months and often involves 12-14 hour days, 6-7 days a week. During this period, time off is restricted except for short down periods. Budgeting is done on top of an individual's normal responsibilities. Timelines are often quite short and the work can be very intense. People frequently complain of burnout.
